It’s exciting to see you here,
thinking about violin lessons!

If you’re a parent considering getting your child started on an instrument, my core home studio is based around the Suzuki approach of teaching young children, and you’ve come to the right place.

If you are in a school or community orchestra and want a few lessons to refine skills and learn some practice techniques, I’ve got something for you too!

I have been teaching violin for over 15 years in public schools, private schools, music schools, summer programs, and in my home studio. My teaching credentials include certified training for the Suzuki violin method, Music Mind Games, and FiddleQuest. I have also completed the Teach Music Online training course for virtual lessons. I have been a full time performer, but my passion is working with my students and seeing them grow into confident violinists.

My immediate family consists of my husband, two young kids, and two old cats. Our musical activity as a family is Music Together classes.

fun fact #2

I come from a family with two professional musician parents and can’t remember a time in my life without playing violin (and no, I did not always practice joyfully and cooperatively)!

fun fact #3

I was a competitive track and field athlete all the way through college.  For a while my career goals were sports-oriented, and at one point I even completed my USA Track and Field coaching accreditation and coached cross country and track teams for several years.

fun fact #4

When I was 18 I spent my summer traveling around the country to do Suzuki teacher training with specific teachers. The foundation I got has been invaluable and I still use teaching techniques I learned from those trainers just about every lesson!

fun fact #5

As a graduate student I often played the violin 10 - 13 hours daily as part of orchestras, chamber ensembles, my own private lessons, teaching and then practicing!

fun fact #6

My most fun short-term job was working at the Penticton Academy of Music in British Columbia.  I spent the summer doing a combination of teaching classical and fiddle music, administration, teacher observations, and hiking in the mountains!

I have a lot of professional credentials too. Visit me at….
